Steampunk Hide and Seek
by Grmblfz
This steampunk themed Hide and Seek map is my first ever and was inspired by the series and the many great maps that ScrapMan, Kan and that other guy ;) played. I also took many of their suggestions into account. This map took me over half a year to make and playtest and has many details, so I suggest to play it more than once to truly experience the whole map, trust me you will always find new spots. Here are all the things you need to know: > shadows on, particle quality high, god rays reccomended > 2 minute hiding time > 60 spots + 8 Non-switch spots > there are spots within spots (12) > 6 hammer spots (marked by discolored blocks and sometimes very hard to see) > two spots can only be opened with a spud gun > Three easter egg spots for ScrapMan, Kan and ... what was his name? Dapper? And one for me... > destructible objects MAY be broken EXCEPT for bubble block windows > green switches to close the spot, white switches to open viewing ports, and dark blue switches for non-spot things > when in a seat spot, you can press 3 to give spud gun hints from the seat without getting out > Ducks represent spots where I would have liked to hide a switch but couldn't or decided not to, so if you find one, congrats! but there is no switch there... Have fun playing the map and if you do decide to play it in a video, critique is greatly apreciated since I plan on expanding the map and making a part two (potentially, maybe...). To end the challenge you need to blow up the starting airship! Either go in the cockpit and find the switch that opens the hull in the passenger room (the finger points to the switch). Once in the hull there is the big ending switch. OR the more FUN WAY: press the big dark red button in the cockpit to start the self destruct timer and jump out the airship to see it blow up from the outside! The green button is the safe button and can be pressed to stop the countdown... lame. SPOILERS FOR EASTER-EGG SPOTS!!!! > Scrap Man: behind the main gate: shoot 5 targets marked by a red cross, all can be reached from the gate. 1: above the main gate, 2: on the house down the alley, 3: in one of the windows of the abandoned house, 4: on top of the woc-stable, 5: when the main gate has opened enough, look inside, there is the last red cross to shoot. Once Inside, there is a spot within, a grey button behind the cogs of the logo. > Kan: In the airship which he built a long time ago with the big logo: When you go inside the cabin and open the second door, on the outside there is another switch on the hull of the cabin which opens a ramp up to the balloon. Inside the balloon is a dumpster with flies, the switch for that dumpster is on the bottom left. > Kosmo: In the sewer system between the entrance near the market place and the river. There is a hammer spot marked by a small section of discolored wall. This opens up to a small split room with a view to Kosmos robot. The other side is accessible when standing in the sewer in front of the entrance to that side of the room for 5 seconds. > My (Grmblfz's) spot: When standing on the starting airship lookout-platform at the back, shoot the switch at the bottom fin of the airship. This opens the left railing and a small spot opens above. Taking all the chairs upward gets you on top of the airship, where you can walk around and go on the fins. > Callback Spot: When on the city wall, there is a grey switch on a chimney of the farmhouse. When you press it a giant tower comes out the wall. go in and retract it back into the ground. you will find a wooden door with three cyan lights, find all three cyan switches in the tower (one on each level, yes there are three levels not only two!) and the door opens to reveal... a looong glass tunnel leading to the other side of the map and a sign to only use this spot when KAN is in a good mood ;)
