Piston Power Expert Trials 2.0
by Kein Anderer
About The Challenge Pack This challenge pack is for those that believe they are piston power experts and want to try their skills out. It includes 3 different levels with 3 different difficulties and is a refined version of my older challenge pack, that never received the updates I planned (definitely not lazyness). You can press the yellow button in any challenge to skip to the next one. First Challenge: Torque The task here is to spin a big wheel with your engine for 1 rotation. Its weight, aswell as its counterweight on the bottom will require more than 4k Nm, which is more than a controller bearing can supply and will require you to have more advanced torque engineering to not make the controller bearings in your engine break. Make sure to press the green button to start the challenge and that the wheel is not moved/rotated much before you do so (red light indicates this). Second Challenge: Speed You are presented with a ~200m long dragstrip that you have to clear in a time determined by the arrows off to the right. Even the easiest challenge will require you to be faster than maxed gas engine speed with 5x2 wheels (~160kph). Speed is key. Make sure to hit the green switch near the starting line (safety lockout) and then cross the line to start the challenge. Third Challenge: Traction Here you have to pick up a container, transport it up a steep hill and then unload it on the top. The relatively high center of mass of the container is gonna make getting traction on the incline challenging, especially with the ground clearance you require for the transitions. Engineering a good drivetrain, ideally 4WD, that can transfer decent torque and keep high traction will be a must. Make sure to pick up the container and cross the line to start the challenge. Difficulty: Normal Should be a piece of cake with standard advanced tech, still marginally challenging with those though. Difficulty: Hard Getting closer to the limits with what standard advanced tech can provide, it will require quite a bit of extra tinkering usually. Difficulty: Insane Meant for absolute limit pushers and near impossible for anyone sane. Extra Collectibles Not only are you getting different challenge packs you can solve, but there are also hidden secrets scattered across all challenges, that can lead to some worthwhile rewards for the challenges. Keep you eyes peeled for anything as you go through the different challenges. Updates The torque challenges received some milder ergonomic and collectible updates, aswell as less sensitive wheel position detection to make it more forgiving for when you hook up engines before you start and to allow for low physics aswell. The traction challenges got some bigger updates, making the cranes a bit more forgiving when picking crates up and to also allow for lower physics a bit better. Some cranes have now also received 2 stage logic to make their buoyancy as neutral as possible with or without crates loaded, which really helps with the insane difficluty one. All the speed challenges have received a track surface that is only a single body, making it significantly smoother.
